bold strike ties 1861 1c Blue (63) to 1868 locally-addressed cover, matching "Knoxville Tenn Sep 15" datestamp, original enclosure (invitation to "Grand Coronation Ball"), stamp barest trace of gum toning on perforation tips, very fine and attractive (Skinner-Eno PA-H 4)
wonderful bold strike on 3c Green entire (U163), "Waterbury Conn. Mar 25 10AM" datestamp alongside, addressed to Princeton, New Jersey, 1878 docketing, extremely fine strike and cover
three covers including 1882 Boston Leavitt Type X3A tying 1c Bank Note to cover to Germantown, Pennsylvania (missing backflap); 1891 Washington, DC Groth Constantine Type 2 cancel on 2c Green on blue entire to Hickory, North Carolina; and 1899 Memphis, Tennessee "Street Fair" Barry slogan cancel tying 2c Carmine to cover to Galveston, Texas, a very fine and attractive group
includes six U.S.N. Purchasing Office Shanghai covers (1928/40), plus 15 additional covers, mostly WWII era but some earlier, various Navy Day commemorative cachets, generally fine to very fine, an interesting group
two binders filled with material on Bush album pages, much of it bought directly from Bush himself, we note (in no particular order) AMG-FTT letter of exchange, weight and measure, 1945 Trieste overprints, parcel post setenant pairs, postal cards, Peter Winter forgeries, as well as various color/perforation errors, shifted overprints, plate blocks, gutter pairs, and covers (mostly philatelic), an extraordinary collection for the specialist with many notes from Bush concerning scarcity, generally fine to very fine, particularly difficult to assemble such a collection at this late date as many of the original sources of material have dried up, worth a very close inspection
