Our January 2023 sales include the "Erivan" Collection of United and Confederate States Postal History Part VIII, as well as a general sale of United States and worldwide stamps, covers, and collections.
carton with a main United States collection plus additional material, most 19th Century stamps faulty to some degree but we note (all used) 1, 9, 15, 37, 38, 71, 72, Pictorials to the 24c, Large Bank Notes to the 30c, some back of the book including first issue revenues, several binders of 20th Century material with mint plate blocks including Prexies complete to the $5, many stamps fine or better, requires a bit of work but could prove rewarding
small group including various mint and used stamps, we note better including mint White Plains souvenir sheet, 371 top and bottom plate number blocks of six, 372 plate number block of six, 373 arrow block of four, and center line blocks of four of 368, 371, and 373, generally fine to very fine, an interesting and worthwhile group
several dozen complete booklets from the 1960s/90s, including better Express Mail, all very fine (face value $410+)
approximately 27 items on stock cards, we note better including 271 mint, 288 mint block of three, 294-99 mint (plus 295 mint pair and plate number strip of three), 325 mint, 342 used, and 419 mint, few dubious coils not counted, small flaws but generally fine to very fine, an attractive and useful group (Scott $1,200+)
mostly mint collection beginning with 551-73, 578-91, 583a, 595, 599A, 634A, Kansas/Nebraska complete, 692-701, Prexies complete, 832b used strip of 3, and more including coils and booklet panes, generally fine to very fine and fresh, a wonderful group (Scott $2,500+)
on stock pages, mostly singles and blocks with retail values to about $195 (several thousand dollars total), much of the material never hinged, mostly very fine or better, a wonderful and easy-to-work-with stock,
used album to the 1950s including useful Banknotes and Washington-Franklins, Columbians to the 30c, back of the book including postage due and official issues plus parcel post complete, several albums of mint plate blocks including Prexies and Liberty series to the $5, in addition to about $100 face value in mint sheets, mixed condition but mostly fine to very fine
primarily used collection on Lighthouse pages, largely complete through about the 2000s (including many modern issues which are deceptively scarce used), also some mint sheets including Celebrate the Century complete, several Inverted Jenny sheets, etc, small group of duck stamps, few hundred modern first day covers, couple hundred dollars in face value, and more, even a copy of John K. Tiffany's book, generally very fine, worth a look
small group including 260, 295-99, 463a, 546, RW2 (2, one plate number single), RW3, and RW4, couple small faults but generally very fine and attractive, a few never hinged not counted in catalogue value (Scott $2,095)
collection on quad-ruled pages including first, second and third issue revenues, various documentary, tax paid, and some Confederate stamps, generally fine, nice assortment for the revenue enthusiast, worth review
approximately 25 binders in three large cartons, includes parallel mint/used, sheets, FDCs, etc, all fresh and appearing as it did when purchased direct from the UNPA, few (if any) gaps throughout, generally very fine, an exhaustive collection that would have carried a large price tag as new issues
