May 7" datestamp and matching "V" rate, lightest traces of toning, very fine and rare, this cover probably originated in California and was carried by Dodge & Co. via Panama to Houston where it entered the mails, Scott Prior's article in Western Express (Vol. 69, No. 1) details the history of this express company and the seven surviving covers, 1981 Philatelic Foundation certificate, ex-Edwards
