black straightline datestamp on folded letter originating in Scotland and addressed to Philadelphia, manuscript "1.8" rate, bit damaged after such a long journey but still fine appearance, This cover was carried to the United States from Scotland by private ship, entering the United States mails at New York. The mail from New York arrived in Philadelphia via stage every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The stages made their way to Indian Queen Tavern at 15 South Fourth Street and the George Tavern on the corner of Second and Mulberry Streets before finally going on to the Philadelphia Post Office. ex-Roth
straightline datestamp on folded letter to Philadelphia, manuscript "20" rate and endorsed "Double Letter", very fine, the Inslip & Cumming Stage Line had a contract for mail between New York and Philadelphia during this time, with mail arriving in New York every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, ex-Roth
red datestamp with matching "Steam Boat." straightline and "7" rate handstamps on 1846 folded letter from St. Albans to New York City, very fine strikes and cover, 7c rate paid 5c postage plus 2c steamboat fee, ex-Paige and Hahn

small group of 12 covers including 1 on large piece with blue "Eastern R.R." datestamp, 1LB9 tied to 3c entire (faults), 15L18 untied on cover with 26, 15c Orange Bank Note on 5c entire with New York Supplementary Mail cancels, 8c and 15c Columbians on registered cover to Prague, Spanish American War patriotic to England, and more, some faults but generally fine or better
group of about 25 covers including three 1901 Pan American advertising covers (one with label tied), five covers with First Bureau plate number strips, C18 on flight cover, and more, plus a small group of 2c Battleship revenues on checks, mixed condition but mostly fine or better, an eclectic group that requires a close look
approximately 70 covers in two binders, a wonderfully eclectic mix of material including (in no particular order) four sets of C13-15 cards/covers including April 19 first day cover of each, CSA 2 Stone Y on cover (APEX certificate), 1c Huguenot-Walloon bisect, early rocket flights, 1869 1c on drop letter, JQ3 on incoming cover from Noway, and selection of 1893 Columbian Exposition tickets, and much more few small faults but generally fine to very fine and interesting
