blue datestamp and two strikes of matching "Paid" double octagon on large folded letter to Manchester, England, manuscript "75" double freight money steam rate, endorsed "Pr. President Steamer", backstamped "Liverpool Ship Letter", very fine, the President was the largest ship in the world when launched in 1840 but she was lost sea with 136 on board in March 1841, spelling the end of the British and American Steam Navigation Company
