franked with 1869 10c Yellow (116), quartered cork cancel, red New York "6" credit handstamp, red "PD" in oval, London and Calais transit datestamps, stamp lifted and thinned and with tiny hole in bottom right of "1", very fine appearance, this cover pays a phantom 10c rate to France per 7½ grams, known to the post office but not the general public, 2004 Philatelic Foundation certificate
