    8a, 1857 ½d Rose, Horizontally ribbed paper, two singles (different shades) with 3d Red vertical strip of threeon horizontally ribbed paper (Scott 4c) tied to envelope addressed to England by 4-ring "15" cancel, adjacent clear Guelph JY 30 58 cds, red London "PAID" transit cds tying one of the ½d, the ½d large to cutting margins and one value with slight pre-affixing crease (so-called pocket stamps) 3d with ample to large margins, cover some minor staining, otherwise Very Fine and unusual franking to prepay the Cunard rate; of the mere five covers recorded with this franking, this the only example bearing ribbed paper stamps and it is one of two covers recorded with both denominations on ribbed paper; ex-Yuile, de Volpi, Foxbridge, Richardson, Nickle, Wilkinson, Hackmey, illustrated in Arfken, Leggett, Firby & Steinhart (p 227), illustrated in "Gems of Canadian Philately" (p 19)
