    9, 1857 7½d Green, two singles plus two singles 3d Red on hard wove paper (Scott 4) tied on registered mourning cover addressed to London by 4-ring "1" cancel with weak adjacent dispatch mark of Barrie (partly improved by pencil), straight line and crowned "REGISTERED" markings, ms "6" (partly ties one of the 7½d) for registration fee to be collected on delivery, backstamped Toronto and London, all the stamps ample to full margins except one of the 3d in at right, a Fine and important cover being the only known double-rate registered cover to England carried on the Cunard Line ("Arabia" which departed from New York on 25 Nov 1857); ex-Wellburn, Lubke, Harrison, Wilkinson, Hackmey, illustrated in Boggs (p 159), Harrison, Arfken & Lussey (p 109) and Arfken, Leggett, Firby & Steinhart (p 250)
