May 25, 1869, Union Soldier, nearly-complete strike ties 1861 3c Rose (65) to cover to South Onondaga, New York, small repaired tear at bottom right, barely reduced at top, extremely fine strike, this cancel is known almost exclusively in foreign mail with this being the only recorded example on a domestic cover, one of the great rarities of New York City postal history (Skinner-Eno Ph-F 73)
