left margin single tied by indistinct black datestamp to 1856 folded printed circular from R.K. Swift to New York City, light staining, fine, Swift was the promoter of the Chicago perforations and this stamp appears to have been cut from a strip by some kind of perforating machine
tied by black cork to 1866 unsealed cover to Johnsville, Ohio, original enclosures advertising "Great Western Gift Concert", very fine, such schemes would be outlawed two years later and such a promotion would have been considered fraudulent mail, see pages 525 to 527 in the Piszkiewicz book for more information
collection of approximately 47 folded circulars and envelopes spanning the staples era through 1869 issue, all sent at the printed matter or unsealed circular rate, wide variety of prices current and business announcements, many franked with 1857 and 1861 1c issues as well as a few Star Die and Black Jack stamped envelopes, generally fine to very fine, this type of time-sensitive commercial correspondence was rarely kept and as such a collection such as this is exceedingly difficult to assemble

binder containing approximately 175 items, primarily arranged by postmark (mostly encompassing Piszkiewicz types C-10 to C-39, see page 166), many with attractive advertising or original enclosures making for a very interesting group, generally fine to very fine, view to appreciate, this type of mail was often trashed upon arrival making a collection such as this quite extraordinary
